I have to agree that this is THE brunch spot. If I lived in Bethlehem, this would be a tradition for me. The interior is bright, colorful and friendly... the smells wafting about are tummy grumbling. He he.
We both started with the sweet potato soup, which we enjoyed. As it cooled, the flavor became more pronounced and rich.
I got a grilled salmon salad, and my sweetie got the Baby Bella pannini. I liked his pannini a LOT. It was full of flavor and the perfect texture. The crust was nice and flaky & buttery. My salmon was a small slice of delicious, on a fresh salad. I would've liked a little more dressing on it, as the salmon didn't quite stretch through the whole salad, and it got a bit boring chomping on greens towards the end. But it was nice & healthy and cooked perfectly.
The coffee was good. The service was to be expected with all the tables full and only two servers. We actually didn't mind this, as we were chatting away along with all the other patrons here.
We actually got dessert afterwards.... neither of our meals were huge, so there was room. We shared a jumble berry pie, and it was SO GOOD! It was a big ole' slice, too! Mmmm....
Don't get all bothered if it takes a while to get your food. It'll be worth it. And you'll be happier if you don't stress the small stuff. Bon appetit!

"One of the best kept secrets in Bethlehem!"
Really likes it - Very tasty and unique menu. They have a variety of delicious home made jams and jellies that you can try with the amazing baked goods they make. Friendly stuff make great suggestions. Portions are on the small side, but they are extremely flavorful, filling (no leftovers to take home-but you can buy some tasty baked goods when you pay at the counter to take home) and completely worth it. I agree with other reviewers that the delicious food takes time so you can't be in a hurry. It is perfect for a leisurely breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended!!!

"Stay away!!!"
Really likes it - I want it all to myself. Jumbar's is tiny and everything is prepared fresh to order. Don't come if you need to get in and out quickly. Breads and other baked treats are fresh daily and are ridiculously good. They often use locally sourced ingredients. The menu changes constantly. Everything I've tried has been wonderful. Unique, quirky, and charming.

Great place in Bethlehem for brunch! Came here with a group of 4 on a Sunday morning and split an omelet and the french toast. Both were great. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere reminds me of a tea room or Bed and Breakfast. I wouldn't come here for a very quick breakfast, its better not to rush it. Although, if you're in a hurry I hear the berry muffins are delicious.
I love that they promote local ingredients and support local farms. And the prices are totally reasonable for the quality of the food!

This place is amazing. The food is so good. I've had breakfast and lunch here several times, and I keep coming back. I order pies from them for the holidays. My family loves them. Best spot in Bethlehem!

This family-owned and operated business is my absolute favorite in Bethlehem -- maybe in PA! Others have spoken to the inviting atmosphere, but I love the food just as much as the cozy dining room. The homemade english muffins will leave you unable to enjoy a store-bought english muffin ever again! There are unique creations like the Greenwich St. special (Boar's Head turkey with sliced apple and honey mustard--mmm!!), as well as fantastic breakfast specials. The speed of service is not McDonalds, but neither is the quality!! I come here as frequently as I can and have never had bad service, nor have I waited longer than 40 minutes, with an average closer to half an hour max. I'm addicted to the brownies and have friends who swear by other various baked goods (all house-made!). My family lives out of state and this is one regular stop we always make time for when they are in town. Jumbars is the hidden shining star of Bethlehem! Try and become a lifer!

Really likes it - We love everything about this restaurant -- from the food to the atmosphere to the other customers. It's an absolute treat to head over there for a leisurely weekend breakfast. The food is terrific and well worth the wait. While it can sometimes seem like it is taking a good bit of time to get your food, remember that everything is being made to perfection -- and from scratch. So grab a cup of coffee and a paper, order a grilled muffin, and just relax...

Fantastic place. I've only been there for breakfast, but it's been delicious every time. I believe they make all their baked goods in-house, and it's excellent. Everything is made to order, so don't expect to be in-and-out in 20 minutes. Sit, talk, eat, and enjoy.

"Best of Bethlehem"
Likes it - After living in northern California for 8 years I'll admit I'm spoiled when it comes to food. Home-baked bread, fresh local produce, and wholesome, organic food on the menu are a regular delight in my North Valley community. Imagine my surprise when visiting my parents "back East" to discover Jumbars where all of the above are the order of the day, every day! It's the best of both worlds for me, right here in Bethlehem! My cousin treated me to brunch, and together we shared two pots of tea (they have a terrific selection) while we made up our minds about the menu. There were so many great options to choose from! I started wtih the cold cantelope soup - for breakfast! It was fresh and sweet; far superior to simple fruit garnish or salad. Then I had the whole grain waffles with fresh berries, which was out of this world! Not too heavy on the whole grains, just enough to give it some flavor and texture, and the berries were perfectly ripe and sweet. My cousin had a special order omelet, which was more than both of us could eat, plus an English Muffin - house-baked and available in packs of 6 for purchase. We tried to get some to take home, but they were sold out. It seems their secret is out and others had the same idea. I noticed an earlier reviewed had poor service - and I can understand why someone might say that. We ordered a side of bacon which didn't arrive until we were nearly finished. However, keep in mind that this is a small, family-owned and operated restuarant. They are doing something unique and outstanding. Be patient and kind and you'll get the same in return. I loved this place and I left feeling nourished, pampered, and relaxed from the great food and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy!

I attended a shower at Jumbars this past weekend and it was fantastic. Chilled cantaloupe soup was amazing, as was the Greenwich Street Special (turkey, apples, cheese, honey mustard on fresh bread). The chocolate cake was to die for! Really, everything we ate was perfect—We also had hummus & tabouleh, flatbreads with chicken and veggies, and salad. The cafe is so cute and cozy, full of cheerful colors and fresh flowers. It is run by a family, and they couldn't be any more pleasant and helpful. When the chef came out from the back for a moment, everyone at the shower clapped for him. It is truly a hidden treasure in Bethlehem.

Best brunch spot in the LV. The food is amazing, especially the breakfasts. The desserts (cakes, cookies, pastries, scones, bread, etc.) are awesome. It's super cute and comforting inside, like the homey little kitchen/dining room of your tasteful relative who's a great cook. Service can be slow, which usually results in a long wait on weekends...but worth it!

Now this is the epitome of a hidden gem in Bethlehem. I doubt that many folks who live in the Lehigh Valley, let alone Bethlehem, have even heard of it. I really don't know why I don't come here more often considering it's a mere five minute walk from me. The food and service has always been consistently great.
It can get crowded here on the weekends for breakfast but there's usually no wait for a table. You don't even have to wait to be seated. Just come in and plop down. How easy is that? The inside is definitely a bit cramped but it most definitely has a warm feeling to it. Patrons seem to know each other so that automatically promotes a homey feeling.
The kitchen is a tad slow when I was last there but that's probably because the place was really hopping. The food is really good here. Portions are average size. Sandwiches tend to run on the small side, but it's very good and made with quality ingredients. The chef does some creative things with his dishes, so definitely check out the daily specials. They also have a nice array of baked goods at the counter if you care to indulge your sweet tooth.
Overall, a great place for great food. Check it out sometime.

This is my absolute favorite lunch spot in the Lehigh Valley. It is a totally relaxed atmosphere, and feels more like an extension of your mother's kitchen than a restaurant, so if you're in a hurry, this place isn't for you. They make made to order sandwiches, salads and quiches which are always fresh and tasty. It's technically a coffeehouse/deli, but they offer better than average fare, like a hot ham and cheese sandwich with pinapple and peppers - delish! Make sure you save room for dessert, which are to die for. The decor is friendly and cheery with oilcloth tablecloths and everything is served on fiestaware. Just darling!
